Horoscope

October 20, 2002

- Joyce Jillson -
The chilly Capricorn moon allows us the distance from our problems that’s needed to get perspective. Given Venus’s recent antics, it’s likely the sore spot has something to do with that passionate (and secretive) person in our lives whom we can’t seem to stop thinking about. Luckily, don’t have to be driven by emotions if you don’t want to be.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
. You have so much pull not that you can get practically anything you ask for. One you care for has feelings for you, too. If you can separate what’s your responsibility from what’s not, you’ll have it made.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20).
Second chances are lucky, so give it another whirl. After all, when you were a baby learning to walk, you didn’t just give up after the first 10 falls. Persistence wins. Friends will do you a favor if it’s requested.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21).
If you can set clear boundaries, a love relationship thrives. Wanting more than the next person in line is what makes you stand out. Singles meet love at school or someplace else where information is shared.

CANCER (June 22-July 22)
. A change leads to money, so do things differently. A boss is impressed by your resourcefulness but may not tell you. You’ve got the guts to ask for more than most, and that’s the primary reason you get more, too.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22).
Pursue the unusual, and see what happens. Budget now, and save for future business. Romantic satisfaction in the evening has to do with connecting on a deeper level to those we’ve only given half a chance.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (October 20).
This year is one walloping education – the kind you couldn’t pay more to get! Be proud of the learning you do by rote, as it will serve you well in years to come. Fantastic partners are Taurus and Capricorn. You get as much as you give (but who’s keeping track?). Someone you doubted will prove worthy of your attention in November. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 23, 29, 5 and 1.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).
Take care of human companions, as well as pets and plants. Your love of art and music connects you to new people. Avoid letting a platonic friend get the wrong idea. Base romantic decisions on common sense.

LIBRA (Sept.23-Oct.23).
An inspiring, competitive person provokes you to action. Your plan is strong. Use persuasive skills to help things go your way. When you think things just can’t get any weirder, they inevitably do.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21).
Be open to change. There is reason to be positive about a transitional period – things are for the best, even if you don’t see why right now. Children have bright ideas; listen before you say no.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
If you are flawless, it’s OK to point out how others are not. Otherwise, refrain from criticism. Singles show off skills and attract romance. Family members should be encouraged to pitch in however possible.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).
Let your interests feed each other. By working on two areas of your life at once, you win at both! Financially, things finally come together when you stop watching the pot and let it boil when it’s ready.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).
A romantic hopeful craves your approval more than your commitment. Family members may play on your sympathy, but no harm is done. It’s safe to share your ideas with others, and their input could be quite valuable.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).
You gain respect by following your (very unreasonable) heart. Still, don’t scatter your energy and then wonder why you are not getting anywhere. What you project comes true now, so stay positive!

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:
Libran influence continue to infuse the atmosphere with harmony and a desire to do what’s fair. With Mercury in this balanced realm as well, knowing what’s wrong and right isn’t as complicated as our laws and social mores would have us think. On a gut level, justice is felt. Anything not fair gets our immediate attention. People who are attractive now are the ones who stand up for what they believe, particularly if it takes some kind of personal sacrifice to do so – and especially if there is no personal gain to be had. Thinking of the group good is also an admirable trait. On Tuesday, Mars enters Libra. This is a rather passive realm for aggressive Mars to visit. It puts a damper on your personal agenda, while the group agenda takes on much greater importance. Your may find yourself irresistibly drawn to clubs, charitable graups and churches. Anywhere you can work with others for the greater good is a place you can personally, as well. Thursday and Friday feature a wave of friendliness. As you go about your business, people you don’t know well could tag along and feel very welcome. You learn a lot by opening yourself up to such harmless intrusions.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Few can boast as many hits as the inimitable Tom Petty, who continues to tour his rock show through the millennium. Loyalty is in his chart, so it’s no surprise that he is touring with the same players from early in his career. Libran rockers perhaps have a unique advantage in show business because they refuse to take entertainment seriously – which paradoxically is why they are seriously entertaining.
