Horoscope

August 31, 2001

- Joyce Jillson -
Earlier this week, Venus transited into Leo, amping up the romantic vibes. Now, with Mercury in the partnership-oriented realm of Libra, it’s easy to turn good relationships into big accomplishments. The fact that we can practically read one another’s minds helps quite a bit. Let the Virgo sun guide you to strive a little higher than you would normality.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
. You’re inspired to come up with wonderful plans. It is OK to overlook your friend’s minor mistakes – everyone makes them. You’ll find job opportunities by attending social events. You will overcome an obstacle soon.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
. Telling the truth is what makes the best impression on others. Discuss pent-up feelings with a trustworthy person. Do not overspend on entertainment Do what’s right, even when you’re being persuaded to do something else.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
. The cooperation of friends and family allows you to be extra productive. The young and old teach and learn from each other. You pick up the pace tonight, and you find this extremely invigorating, especially with all the energy you have now.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).
Extra money is on the way, either via mail or a lottery ticket. Someone may drop by your home for a visit. You’ll meet new love interests when you pursue new hobbies or explore unusual subjects. Take a motivational seminar.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
. A job well done is the emphasis of the day. Luck involves a potential sponsor for a big project. Love in the evening is playful. You invest strong emotions in your mate, although it doesn’t appear to be a big deal to him or her.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (August 31)
. You’re in control this year, and you love it. Romance is fun, but finish work on time, as a bonus could come in the next five weeks. As for your romantic partner, who is now more of a burden than a blessing, you are able to alter this situation by having an honest discussion before October. Keep a high profile through the fall, and work hard to get promoted. Your lucky numbers are: 6, 42, 19, 34 and 5.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
. Work is enjoyable and quite therapeutic. Siblings and in-laws reach a rare accord. If you let go of judgments and opinions, including those about yourself, you’ll accomplish more. Give in to your sweetheart’s requests tonight.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23)
. Let criticism bounce off you – those same people will come to you later to advice. A long-distance relationship has a good chance of lasting. Recreational projects are no fun if you’re blowing off work to complete them.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21)
. Changing your image is an exciting adventure. You know your convictions and are not afraid to share them, but that doesn’t mean everyone is ready to hear what you have to say. Be gentle. Don’t mix emotions with financial matters.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
Give your inner voice more credit, and steer clear of dead-end relationships. A Virgo or Capricorn is inspired by you. You may be forced to deal with challenging personalities, but this only allows you to be more creative tonight.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
. You’re on top of things. It’s lucky to take time to help a friend. Challenge the old school of thought, even if it’s someone you love who’s thinking this way. Make evening plans worth dressing up for, and go out on the town.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
. Take time to acknowledge yourself, even for the little things. Show up at social functions, and don’t feel guilty if you see your MO to merely build new business and community alliances. You’ll have fun, too! Flatter your colleagues.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).
When you self-esteem is high, you stay in the game. A Leo or Libra is especially in tune with what you need. Your admiration is reciprocated – go ahead and ask out that special someone. Clear up arguments before going to bed.

WEEKEND LOVE FORECAST:
Under the sensual glow of the Virgo sun, getting in a loving, supportive mood should be relatively simple. Stress levels are low, and moving at a slow pace, rather than a fast one, is considered much more sexy. To make things even easier, Mercury slips into the sign of partnership, and many couples seem to be able to communicate without saying much at all. Tonight is downright dreamy under the Aquarius moon’s guiding hand. Singles make first-time connections and may begin dating someone exciting as early as Saturday afternoon. Having a clear sense of direction is a huge attraction, so don’t be vague about your future. Saturday features intimacy. Existing relationships grow closer through shared goals, so don’t be afraid to actually put your intentions on paper and hold each other accountable for the completion of tasks. Gear up for the full moon on Sunday by deciding what you want to keep in your life and what you want to throw out. If there is a relationship that no longer suits you, Sunday night will provide the perfect window of opportunity to duck out of it gracefully. SEX APPEAL TIP: Getting too serious too fast is a huge turnoff. The more casual you are, the more people will want to connect with you.

COUPLE OF THE WEEKEND:
Although Virgo and Scorpio seem to be at opposite ends of the emotional spectrum, they can make a go of it. Virgo is coolly logical, while Scorpio is known for its sizzling passion (which it has if it’s not repressed). What’s needed here is a great deal of love and patience, as Virgo and Scorpio tend to grow more closely together in time. To make that important physical connection, they should make a special effort to match each other’s sexual needs, or one or the other could lose interest.
