Horoscope - December 17, 2000

- Joyce Jillson -
The Virgo moon, along with other astrological aspects, promotes healing vibes. It’s an excellent day for disagreeing relatives or feuding partners to communicate and go for a reconciliation. With Mercury in Sagittarius, it’s easy to forget yourself and say too much, too loudly. If you can stay calm, you’ll win the prize. Tame your nerves at crucial moments.

ARIES
(March 21-April 19). People may learn on you more than usual, and you can handle it. Value your own time, and others will, too. An educational opportunity is finally within your reach. Tell loved ones about future plans now – maybe they can help you plan them.

TAURUS

GEMINI

CANCER
(June 22-July 22). It’s smart to yield to the strong urge to get away, even if you don’t know why. Ask for help if a problem gets bigger than you. Your friends are quick to give you helpful and insightful advice, so reserve skepticism. Trust their judgment.

LEO
(July 23-Aug. 22). A relationship with the opposite sex is improving. Life is moving too fast to worry excessively about being diplomatic. Stick to the tried and true in the evening. Break down large tasks into small chunks, and there’s nothing you can’t accomplish.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (December 17).
It’s a year of evolution. Brand new interests are pursued, and exciting talents are revealed. The next four weeks are exciting on the romantic front, and you’ll be asked to seal commitment or state your intentions. Money in February helps with your long-term goals. Your career takes off in March on an entirely new level. Your lucky partner is Gemini. Your lucky numbers are: 2, 13, 20, 34 and 28.

(Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Pep talks/books help you pick yourself up to climb the mountain of success. Playful ideas rejuvenate romance. Take the time to learn now while you have it. New information, tools or software will be a big help later in the week.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Popularity is high and social responsibilities are plentiful – but you’re happy to take them on. At work, be careful not to be too modest. Avoid letting children get caught in the middle of a dispute. Show them consideration.

(Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Keep energy levels up by setting big goals and taking care of your body. Rapport with a loved one improves with more shared time. Relax; outside forces seem to influence romance, but they’re minor in the ultimate outcome.

PISCES
(Feb. 19-March 20). There’s much to learn on every front, so just look at it all as practice. Relationships get stronger through shared secrets, as long as they’re not about family. A loved one tests you; you pass easily. Create an exciting atmosphere at home.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:
The Virgo moon at the top of the week, along with other nurturing aspects, start the ball rolling toward healing interpersonal relationships. By Tuesday, the Libra moon makes it apparent that we must stick together in order for progress to be made by any individual. Bond through shared interests, especially cerebral ones. The Scorpio moon on Wednesday features the excitement of new romance. However, if you are already committed ,it’s a good time promise yourself not to engage in petty arguments and useless bickering with your significant other. Thursday, Dec .21, features the winter solstice, a magical, annual event that heralds the coming of the powerful Capricorn moon. Hearts and energies will focus on untangling romantic entanglements. Open the lines of communication between partners and prospective partners, and express your most intimate feelings (physically and verbally). Practical action and common sense take hold on Friday, when Mercury follows the sun into Capricorn. This starts a cycle when people mean what they say and seldom go back on their word. On Saturday, Mars transits into Scorpio, and emotional courage goes up. Take care of difficult issues – it’s not as scary as it seems. Mold a new lifestyle for yourself.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Academy award-winning actress Marissa Tomei could surprise everyone with a controversial role in a family film. She’s an adventurous Sagittarius with Mercury in hard-working Capricorn. This influence inspires a very down-to-earth communication style. With Venus in sexy Scorpio, she affects people on a gut level. And with Mars in reserved, earth Virgo, Tomei is a perfectionist in all endeavors!
