MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso TV host Pauleen Luna admitted that she’s worried that the lack of social interaction due to the COVID-19 pandemic will affect her daughter Tali.

In the September 6 episode of the “Eat Bulaga” segment "Bawal Judgemental," Pauleen said Tali is longing for face-to-face interaction with her classmates.

"Parang feeling ko naramdaman niya 'yon kasi hindi na niya nakikita 'yung classmates niya. 'Tapos whenever minsan nagta-trial kami ng tutor kahit online lang, parang naintindihan na rin niya na ganito na muna,” she said.

"Pero minsan, ang nakakalungkot is kapag nakikita niya ang classmates niya at sasabihin niya, 'Mommy, Vivian will visit me, right?' Yung parang she's longing for that face-to-face interaction, connection," she added.

Pauleen said a physical school is not only important for teaching academics but also social interaction.

"Hindi lang naman 'yung nakikita natin sa curriculum ang mga natututunan ng mga bata sa eskwelahan, there's so much more, kung papaano 'yung sitwasyon at paano sila magre-react. They learn a lot from interaction. So, 'yun 'yung minsan natatakot ako na baka kulang," she explained.

She also said that she fears for Tali growing up learning that everything is for her favor.

"Ang fear ko, kasi dahil mag-isa lang siya ngayon na lumalaki, na she will grow up na akala niya ang lahat ay in favor sa kanya. Alam mo 'yon? Kasi lahat kami nag-a-adjust for her. Parang 'di pa niya nae-experience na siya 'yung mag-a-adjust,” Pauleen shared.

"Kaya there was this one time na nagpunta dito 'yung mga pamangkin niya, pero mga bata pa talaga, nag-rent kami ng inflatable slide, sabi ko talaga sa Daddy niya, 'Hayaan mo masaktan. Hayaan mong medyo masipa nang konti.' Para maintindihan niya na it works this way -- na minsan ang mga pangyayari in your favor, minsan hindi -- we have to learn how to adjust," she added.

Pauleen believed that parents should adjust in this kind of setup for their kids.

“Malaking-malaki ang kaibahan para sa ating mga magulang. Kasi tayo talaga ang gumagawa lahat. Noon, ibaba mo lang siya sa eskuwelahan, tapos susunduin mo na. Ito, we have to prepare everything for them tapos tutok na tutok ka. Tama si ma'am, e,” she said.

"Tama yung sinabi niya na iba kapag ikaw ang nagtuturo sa anak mo at iba kapag teacher. Nandun 'yung kasi may relationship kayo. Minsan 'di niya feel mag-aral, gustong maglaro. Siyempre, nandiyan minsan 'yung maikli ang pasensya natin."
