MANILA, Philippines - It will be a rainy weekend in some parts of country, including Metro Manila, as a low pressure area (LPA) was spotted approaching near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
In a weather advisory issued 11 a.m. Saturday, the state weather bureau Pagasa said that the LPA was sighted 170 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, which is expected to bring light to moderate rains over Bicol region and provinces of Aurora and Quezon.
The Bicol region and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon, as well as Metro Manila, are also expected to experience isolated thunderstorms due to the weather system.
Some parts of Nueva Ecija, Batangas, Bulacan, and Cavite will also experience thunderstorms.
Pagasa also advised residents in the affected areas against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flash floods.
