At 4 p.m. yesterday, the eye of typhoon “Nina” was estimated at 420 kms east-northeast of Casiguran, Aurora with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move west-northwest at 19 kph.

Typhoon “Nina” is expected to be at 130 kms northeast of Aparri, Cagayan this afternoon.

Cagayan, including the Babuyan and Calayan group of islands, and Isabela will have stormy weather with rough to very rough seas.

The rest of eastern and northern Luzon, Nueva Ecija, northern Quezon (including Polillo Island), Catanduanes and the Camarines provinces will have rains and gusty winds and moderate to rough seas.

The rest of Luzon and the Visayas will have monsoon rains. Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Coastal waters in the rest of Luzon and the Visayas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, seas will be slight to moderate, except during thunderstorms.

Temperature forecasts: Metro Manila, 23-29 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 15-23; Tagaytay City, 22-29; Subic and Clark zone, 24-30; Metro Cebu, 24-30; Metro Davao, 24-31; and Cagayan de Oro, 23-30.

Tidal predictions in Manila Bay: high tide at 1:48 a.m. at 1.21 meters; low tide at 11:17 a.m. at 0.01 meter. Sunrise is at 5:45 a.m.; sunset at 5:52 p.m.
