At 2 p.m. yesterday, typhoon “Egay’ was estimated at 450 kms east-southeast of Aparri, Cagayan with maximum sustaained winds of 215 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 250 kph. It is forecast to move northwest at 15 kph.

A moderate to strong southwesterly surface windflow prevails over Luzon and the western sections of the Visayas.

The Batanes group of islands will have stormy weather, while Cagayan, including Babuyan islands, Isabela and Catanduanes will have rains and gusty winds, and rough to very rough coastal waters.

Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon will have occasional rains, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Coastal waters in the Visayas and the rest of Luzon will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, seas will be slight to moderate.
