At 2 p.m. yesterday, typhoon “Egay’ was estimated at 420 kms east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph. It is forecast to move west at 9 kph.

A moderate to strong southwesterly windflow prevails over Luzon and the western sections of the Visayas.

The provinces of Cagayan, Isabela and Catanduanes will have rains and gusty winds, and rough coastal waters.

Eastern Visayas and the rest of the Bicol region will have frequent rains.

The rest of Luzon and the Visayas will have occasional rains, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Coastal waters in the Visayas and the rest of Luzon will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, seas will be slight to moderate.

Temperature forecasts: Metro Manila, 24-30 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 16-19; Tagaytay City, 22-29; Subic, Clark zone and lahar areas, 23-29; Metro Cebu, 25-32; Metro Davao, 24-32; and Cagayan de Oro, 22-33.
