At 2 pm yesterday, typhoon "REMING" was located by PAGASA radar, satellite and surface data at 210 kms southwest of Metro Manila with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to move west at 15 kph.
"REMING" has weakened slightly after crossing the Northern Coast of Mindoro and is now moving towards the South China sea.
Public Storm Warning Signal elsewhere is now lowered.
Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals are alerted against flashfloods and landslides, while those living in coastal areas under Public Storm Warning Signal 2 are advised to seek higher grounds due to possible storm surge.
