Typhoon "Labuyo" continues to slowly move northward in the general direction of Taiwan.

At 4 p.m. yesterday, the center of typhoon "Labuyo" was tracked in the vicinity of Itbayat Island in Batanes or 180 kilometers southeast of Hengchun in southern Taiwan with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness up to 160 kph.

It is forecast to move north at 7 kph. It is expected to be 195 kms northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or 180 kms southeast of Hengchun, Taiwan this afternoon.

Public Storm Signal No. 3 is still in effect over the Batanes group of islands, while Public Storm Signal No. 2 is hoisted over the Calayan and Babuyan Islands. These areas will have stormy weather and rough to very rough coastal waters.

Public Storm Signal No. 1 is in effect over Northern Luzon, Apayao and the Ilocos provinces which will experience rains and winds of not more than 60 kph, and moderate to rough coastal waters.

"Labuyo" will continue to induce more monsoon rains over Luzon and the Western Visayas. The rest of the country will be cloudy with scattered rainsho—wers and thunderstorms.
