LPA off Mindanao dissipates
MANILA, Philippines — No low-pressure area has been monitored anywhere in the country after an LPA earlier spotted off Mindanao dissipated, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.
Weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said the public should expect hot temperatures with isolated rains in the next three days.
“At present, there is no low-pressure area that can affect any part of the country in the next few days,” Villamil said.
PAGASA said a heat index of 45 degrees Celsius was recorded in Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte at noon on Sunday.
On the same day, the heat indexes in Daet, Camarines Norte; Legazpi City, Albay, and Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur reached 44 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, as of 6 a.m. yesterday, the water level in Angat Dam dropped to 193.90 from the previous day’s 194.04 meters.
PAGASA said that aside from Angat, the water level in other dams in Luzon also declined, except for the Caliraya Dam in Laguna, which increased by 1.23 meters.
