MANILA, Philippines —  President Marcos urged Filipinos to be disciplined and to love the Philippines more as part of their New Year’s resolutions for 2025.

In a nearly five-minute vlog posted on YouTube yesterday, the President shared some of the traits that Filipinos must improve to achieve a better Philippines.

He said Filipinos must include in their New Year’s resolutions health and fitness goals as well as discipline in handling money, using gadgets, driving and even garbage disposal.

He also urged Filipinos to promote a culture of excellence and embrace the new technology.

Marcos also encouraged Filipinos to show a renewed sense of patriotism.

“What are the many ways that we can show, to express our patriotism? There are so many. Let’s not go too far – it doesn’t have to be at the national level. How can we help our local community, our city, our barangay or home?” the President said.

One can also show love for the country by simply doing their job efficiently, Marcos said.

As for his own New Year’s resolution, Marcos vowed to prioritize his health.

“My New Year’s resolution – to be more disciplined – is to take better care of my health. Because of the amount of work I do, I can’t really afford to get sick and not come to work. It’s really unacceptable not to have a good and clear mind,” Marcos said.

Marcos also committed to extend more support to Filipinos so they could excel on the global stage, citing the victory of “The Voice USA” Season 26 grand champion Sofronio Vasquez.

The President stressed self-improvement no matter how big or small can help make the country better.
