Marcos: I’m on call during holidays
MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos is planning to spend the holidays in Baguio and Ilocos, but will continue to make himself available in case he needs to attend to important matters.
Speaking to reporters at the Villamor Air Base yesterday, Marcos said while he plans to travel north, his schedule remains flexible just in case something comes up.
“You know, something might happen, I might be needed. Whatever it is, I’m always available. But of course, all of us, we could use a little break. So I will use the time,” Marcos said when asked about his plans for Christmas.
“I don’t have off days... We are not among those with vacation, holidays or weekends. We’re always on call,” he added.
Marcos said he also intends to catch up on his reading and to spend some time with the first lady during the holidays.
“On Christmas Day I’ll be in Manila, but I’ll go to Baguio. But after that, no plans yet. We haven’t really decided as a family. Everyone is busy. It is now hard to tag my children along. They have many plans. Maybe the First Lady and I will spend a little quiet time,” the President said.
