BAGUIO, Philippines — For almost a decade, the Fil Am Invitational has been dominated by one club. This year, however, a lot of things have been unraveled for the longest and largest amateur event in the world.

Eastridge has emerged as a new powerhouse squad in foiling Manila Southwoods’ “10-feat” bid in the Fil championship division.

Manila Southwoods’ rosters in both Fil and Am Championships were no pushovers but the lack of Fil Am golf experience was definitely a big factor in their performances last week.

Januarius Private Equity and Batangas Barakos have shown flashes of brilliance to play with best.

But Eastridge made the biggest impact, with its young guns, with an average age of 13, winding up with a podium finish in a division just below the premier championship.

Yes, the future is bright as the Januarius Fil Am Invitational heads to its 75th edition next year.
