Courts suspend work on October 22 amid threat of ‘Kristine’

MANILA, Philippines — Some court operations across the country have been suspended on Tuesday, October 22, due to inclement weather caused by Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).

Supreme Court spokesperson Camille Ting explained that despite the suspension of work in courts, a skeletal workforce should be maintained "when necessary or practicable."

“If the circumstance will not permit, courts are advised to always be reachable through their official email addresses and phone numbers for urgent matters,” Ting said in a message to Philstar.com.

 

The following are the courts that suspended work due to inclement weather:

All courts

  • San Fernando, Masbate
  • Placer, Masbate
  • All courts under the administrative supervision of RTC Sorsogon City.
  • All courts under the jurisdiction of RTC Catbalogan, Samar.

Regional Trial Courts (RTC)

  • RTC Legazpi City
  • RTC FC1 Legazpi City
  • RTC OCC Legazpi City

Municipal Trial Court (MTC)

  • MTC Rapu-Rapu, Albay
  • MTC Daraga, Albay
  • MTC Guinobatan, Albay

Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC)

  • MTCC Legazpi CIty
  • MTCC OCC Legazpi CIty

Municipal Circuit Trial Courts (MCTC)

  • MCTC Camalig-Jovellar, Camalig, Albay
  • MCTC Sto. Domingo-Manito, Sto. Domingo, Albay
