MANILA, Philippines — Three dams in Luzon were still releasing water yesterday following heavy rains due to the southwest monsoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Ipo dam had one gate opened at 0.15 meters as the dam was almost at its normal high-water level of 101.10 meters. At 8 a.m. the water reservoir was at 100.52 meters, according to PAGASA.

Meanwhile, Ambuklao dam had one gate opened at 0.50 meters as its water level reached 751.76 meters, just below its normal high-water level of 752.0 meters.

Binga dam also had one gate opened at 0.50 meters as its water level has reached 573.94 meters, a couple of meters below its 575-meter high water level.

The southwest monsoon continues to bring rains over many parts of Luzon with scattered rains forecast over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

The monsoon will also bring isolated rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

PAGASA warned of flooding or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
