MANILA, Philippines — The trough of the low-pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon will continue to bring rains over parts of the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The LPA was monitored 770 km east of Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

There is still a low chance that the LPA will develop into a tropical cyclone in the next days.

Its trough will bring scattered rains over Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands and Quezon.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon is still affecting the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.

Ilocos region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales and Bataan may see scattered rains due to the monsoon.

Isolated rains may be seen over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan due to the monsoon or habagat.

Localized thunderstorms will bring isolated rains over the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.
