MANILA, Philippines — Heavy rainfall and flooding due to the combined effects of Typhoon Carina (international name: Gaemi) and the southwest monsoon (Habagat) prompted local government units to cancel work and classes on Wednesday.
The following LGUs have announced work and class suspensions:
Metro Manila (as ordered by Malacañang)
- All cities - all levels, public and private schools; work in government offices
Outside Metro Manila
- Cainta, Rizal - all levels, public and private schools; work in government offices
- Binangonan, Rizal - all levels, public and private schools
- Morong, Rizal - all levels, public and private schools
- Tanay, Rizal - all levels, public and private schools
- Baguio City - all levels, public and private schools; work in government offices
- Batangas province - all levels, public and private schools
- Cavite - all levels, public and private schools
- Laguna - all levels, public and private schools
- Magsingal, Ilocos Sur - all levels, public and private schools
- Capas, Tarlac - all levels, public and private schools
- Bataan - all levels, public and private schools
- Manaoag, Pangasinan - preschool to senior high school, public and private schools
- Bulakan, Bulacan - all levels, public and private schools
- Batanes - work is suspended in government offices until July 25
