Woman jumps onto LRT-1 tracks

MANILA, Philippines — A woman reportedly jumped onto the tracks of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) in Sta. Cruz, Manila yesterday.

According to the Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC), the operator of the LRT-1, the woman jumped on the rail tracks when a train approached the southbound Doroteo Jose station at 12:41 p.m.

“The LRMC team responded immediately to assess the passenger’s condition,” the company said in a statement.

Due to the incident, the LRT-1 operations were suspended and resumed after nearly one hour.

The passenger was brought to the nearest hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
