MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed Greg Guillermo Pua as the new executive director of the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the youngest official to hold the post.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza welcomed Pua’s appointment.
The 35-year-old Pua previously served as the agency’s chief legal consultant, as well as other transport groups before entering the LTO.
“The number of our youth clients have been increasing exponentially. We need fresh ideas in the changing landscape of government service. Executive director Pua will bring in the youth idealism and vigor in the top level positions in the LTO,” said Mendoza.
Pua took up Legal Management and has a Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda University.
“Executive director Pua proved himself to be both a team player and innovative leader. On behalf of the LTO family, we welcome his appointment as the LTO executive director,” Mendoza added.
Pua will replace Francis Almora, who will again head the LTO’s Law Enforcement Service.
Meanwhile, Marcos has appointed a former broadcast journalist as undersecretary at the Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs (OSAP-IEA).
Jose Edwiniel Guilas was named OSAP-IEA undersecretary, along with Mariam Genevieve Masahud who was appointed Director IV.
The OSAP-IEA, which is under the Office of the President, is headed by Sec. Frederick Go.
Guilas was a former news anchor at the state-run People’s Television Network. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of the Philippines and finished several professional courses at the Asian Institute of Management.
For the Department of Education, the President has appointed Cristito Eco as Director III and Career Executive Service Officer III, and Joel Lopez as Schools Division Superintendent and Career Executive Service Officer IV.
Also appointed was Ramon Solis as member of the Professional Regulation Commission’ Professional Regulatory Board of Mechanical Engineering.
