MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed singer and composer Anthony Castelo as vice chairman and chief operating officer of the Bataan Shipyard and Engineering Co. Inc. (BASECO), one of the companies sequestered by the government after the 1986 people power revolution.

Under Executive Order No. 1 signed by Aquino on Feb. 28, 1986, the PCGG shall assist the president in the “recovery of all ill-gotten wealth accumulated by former president Ferdinand E. Marcos, his immediate family, relatives, subordinates and close associates, whether located in the Philippines or abroad.”
