MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos yesterday invited Filipinos to celebrate the 126th anniversary of Philippine independence, giving assurance that the government is continuously defending the country’s freedom and sovereignty.

Events will be held starting June 10 at the Quirino Grandstand and Burnham Green.

The Parada ng Kalayaan 2024 will feature 22 floats from different provinces on June 12, the day of the anniversary.

Filipino girl group BINI will perform after the parade.

Marcos will lead the flag-raising ceremony in Rizal Park in Manila, according to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP).

This would be followed by wreath-laying rites, wherein Marcos will be accompanied by NHCP chair Lisa Guerrero Nakpil and Armed Forces chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr.
