MANILA, Philippines — Two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) suffered injuries as a result of a rainstorm in Hong Kong, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac at the weekend said the two OFWs are spouses who work in a Sai Kung resort that was affected by a landslide following the rainstorm.

“The OFWs – wife and husband – are in hospital with a head and leg injury, respectively,” Cacdac posted on X, formerly Twitter.

The husband, Cacdac said, is scheduled to undergo an operation on his injured leg. He stressed that the two OFWs are now in stable condition.

The DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, he said, are closely monitoring the condition of the two and have provided them with financial assistance.
