MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) yesterday appealed to the public to remain calm when dealing with bomb threats.

Multiple bomb threats targeting schools and government offices were reported this month.

“While bomb threats are a part of our job... the bigger concern is the effect on our targets, especially those in schools,” said PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr.

While some threats turn out to be hoaxes, they still need to be reported to the police, he reiterated.
