MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Council, the official organization of Metro Manila mayors, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have given their full support to the promotional activity of the Manila International Film Festival held in Hollywood.
The metro mayors, led by MMC president and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos and MMDA Chairman Don Artes, flew to Los Angeles and joined MIFF officials and stalwarts of the Philippine movie industry to promote all the 10 movies that participated in the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
“As president of the Metro Manila Council, I, along with DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos, MMDA Chairman Don Artes and fellow Metro Manila mayors, show our full support to the Philippine movie industry at the Manila International Film Festival here in Hollywood,” Zamora said in a post on Facebook.
He added that it was the first time that Filipino movies, included in the recent MIFF, have been promoted heavily in the United States and shown in Los Angeles.
Movie actors Dingdong Dantes, Alden Richards, Enchong Dee, John Arcilla, Ysabel Ortega, KaladKaren, Beauty Gonzales, Eugene Domingo, Tirso Cruz III, Boots Anson Roa, Christopher de Leon and Piolo Pascual all flew in from Manila to attend the event.
GMA 7’s Annette Gozon, Joy Marcelo and US-based Filipino producers also attended the MIFF.
