US DOJ pays courtesy call on SC justices

MANILA, Philippines — Representatives of the US Department of Justice paid a courtesy call on Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo and Supreme Court Associate Justice Jose Midas Marquez to discuss partnership opportunities.

Members of the US DOJ’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development Assistance and Training met with the SC justices at the conference room on Thursday.

During the courtesy visit, among the topics discussed was the possible assistance from the US government on the preparation of a manual and training for judges in relation to the Rules on the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.

Apart from this, the selection process and composition of the Office of the Judiciary Marshalls were also taken up at the meeting.
