MANILA, Philippines — From a construction magnate who builds skyways and charity wards; to a beauty queen who has conquered the universe; to business leaders, advocates and world-class talents, PeopleAsia’s “People of the Year” awardees are excellence personified.
Leading this year’s list is Lifetime Achievement Awardee Alice Eduardo, president and CEO of Sta. Elena Construction Corp., who graces one of the magazine’s two flip covers.
The other “People of the Year” awardees, featured on PeopleAsia’s group cover, include business heavyweights GT Capital Holdings vice chairman and Toyota Motors Philippines chairman Alfred Ty, Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. president and CEO Eugene S. Acevedo, Volvo Philippines president and CEO Atty. Albert Arcilla, Shell Pilipinas Corp. president and CEO Lorelie Osial and Grab Philippines country head Grace Vera Cruz.
Also looking confidently beautiful – with a heart – on the group cover and on another flip cover is Miss Universe 2015 and “People of the Year” awardee Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey, who continues to break new ground since winning the crown.
Public servants and female leaders also take the spotlight in Budget and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, Las Piñas Rep. and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar, and philanthropist and Monaco Consul General Fortune Ledesma. Representing the field of sports, on the other hand, are Asian Games gold winners such as Olympian pole vaulter EJ Obiena, and Barangay Ginebra and Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tim Cone.
Rounding up this year’s list are Broadway and West End singer and actress Rachelle Ann Go, and fashion designer Puey Quiñones. For the second year in a row, Singapore Airlines is also being recognized as “Airline of the Year.”
PeopleAsia’s “People of the Year” 2024 are featured in the magazine’s December 2023-January 2024 issue, which is now available in Lazada, as well as in select bookstores and newsstands nationwide. The magazine will also release its digital edition in PressReader in January 2024.
