MANILA, Philippines — The Undas break was generally peaceful and orderly even with millions of Filipinos flocking to cemeteries nationwide.

Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos said there were no serious untoward incidents reported during the Undas holiday.

He lauded the Philippine National Police and local government units for ensuring the public’s safety throughout the country during All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days, noting that the two institutions had their hands full, especially with the recently concluded barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Abalos also extended his gratitude to partner agencies, non-government organizations and volunteers for making the observance of the Undas break peaceful.
