MANILA, Philippines — Several local governments in Metro Manila have announced rerouting schemes and road closures to avoid traffic build-up ahead of All Saints' Day.
The advisories are as follows:
Manila
According to a Facebook post by the Manila local government unit (LGU), the following roads will be closed:
- Stretch of Aurora Boulevard (from Dimasalang Road to Rizal Avenue)
- Stretch of Dimasalang Road (from Makiling Street to Blumentritt Road)
- Stretch of Pedro Guevarra Street (from Cavite Street to Aurora Boulevard)
- Stretch of Blumentritt Road (from Andres Bonifacio to P. Guevarra Street)
- Stretch of Retiro Street (from Dimasalang Road to Blumentritt Road)
- Stretch of Maceda Street (from Makiling Street to Dimasalang Road)
The Manila LGU also mentioned spots where the public can park their vehicles if visiting nearby cemeteries:
- Pedro Guevarra Street (from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard)
- Feliz Huertas Street (from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard)
- Oroquieta Street (from Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard)
- Simoun Street (from Dimasalang Road to Mayon Street)
Manila has also advised motorists of alternate routes:
- For La Loma and Chinese Cemeteries, take the stretch of Rizal Ave. & J. Abad Santos Ave. as your point of entrance or exit (vice versa).
- All vehicles coming from Rizal Ave. intending to utilize Blumentritt Rd. shall continue straight Rizal Ave. to point of destination.
- All trailer trucks/heavy vehicles coming from A.H. Lacson Ave. intending to utilize Dimasalang Rd., shall go straight to Yuseco St. to point of destination.
- All vehicles coming from Dimasalang Rd. intending to utilize Blumentritt Rd. shall turn right to Makiling St., straight to Blumentritt Ext. to point of destination.
Marikina City
The Marikina LGU has advised motorists that A. Bonifacio Avenue and Sumulong Highway will be one way from October 31, 12 noon, to November 2, 12 midnight.
The Marikina LGU provided the following alternate routes:
- All vehicles going to Loyola Memorial Park from Barangka Fly-over going to A. Bonifacio Avenue should take the left lane to enter Loyola Memorial Park Gate 2.
- All vehicles going to the city proper should take the right side of the road.
- All vehicles from C-5 By-Pass Road or Marcos Highway which will use Riverbanks Avenue should exit Riverbanks Avenue and Bonifacio Avenue to go to the city proper or Loyola.
- All vehicles from Loyola which will exit through Gate 1 may turn right to Don Gonzalo Puyat street, Paspasan street, and Chorillo St. turn right to A. Bonifacio Avenue going to Quezon City.
- All vehicles going to Quezon City from the city proper may use J.P. Rizal street going to Marcos Highway.
Mandaluyong City
The Mandaluyong City LGU has provided the following road advisories for motorists visiting Aglipay Cemetery (Garden of Life Park):
- All vehicles coming from Ilino Cruz street going to Kalentong should turn left to Rev. Aglipay street to destination
- All vehicles coming from Kalentong street going to Aglipay Cemetery and Paradise Cemetery should take Boni Avenue then turn right to P. Cruz and turn right to Parada street and to destination
- All vehicles coming from Brgy. Namayan and Brgy. Mabini-J. Rizal going to Boni Avenue, City Hall, or Shaw Boulevard should take J. P. Rizal through Coronado street turn left to San Francisco street to destination.
Vehicles will be following a one-way rule when going to Ilino Cruz corner Aglipay to Boni Avenue and P. Cruz corner Parada going Aglipay.
Navotas City
The Navotas City LGU has advised motorists that the Governor Pascual street will be closed will be closed from Bacog, A. Ignacio street to A. Santiago street starting October 31, 12 noon, to November 2, 12 midnight.
All vehicles entering and exiting Navotas should use M. Naval street going to C-4 Road, according to an advisory from the Navotas City government.
Pasig City
The Pasig City LGU has announced that C. Raymundo Avenue will be one way to vehicular traffic (northbound) from E. Angeles street to Mercedes Avenue from October 31, 2 p.m., to November 1.
Parañaque City
According to the Parañaque City government, A. Bonifacio and Tramo Streets will be closed from October 29 to November 1 to manage the traffic of motorists going to Palanyag Catholic Cemetery.
City of San Juan
The San Juan City LGU will implement a re-routing scheme along Boni Serrano Street from October 28 to November 3.
San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora shared on Facebook a map identifying alternate routes.
