MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court (SC) announced Sunday that it is planning to release the results of the 2023 Bar exams in December.

As the three-day 2023 Bar examinations kicked off on Sunday, Bar chairperson and Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando unveiled the SC's plan to release the results before the holiday season during a press conference.

“My team and I are eyeing the release of the results of the 2023 Bar examinations in early December, before Christmas Day,” Hernando said.

“Moreover, there will be simultaneous oath taking and signing of the Roll of Attorneys in December also before Christmas Day so that we will have our new batch of full-fledged lawyers before 2023 ends,” he added.

On Sunday morning, examinees gathered at 14 local testing centers across the nation, starting the exams at 8 a.m.

Out of the 10,791 examinees, 5,821 are first-timers, and 4,970 are re-taking the exams, according to the SC.

The 2023 Bar exams will continue on September 20 and 24. It will cover six core subjects: political and public international law, commercial and taxation laws, civil law, labor law and social legislation, criminal law, and remedial law, legal and judicial ethics with practical exercises.
