MANILA, Philippines — Some local government units have announced a class suspension on September 1 due to the continuous rains caused by enhanced southwest monsoon.

Even though Super Typhoon Goring is no longer in the Philippine Area of Responsibility, its effects are intensifying the habagat and causing continuous downpours. Severe Tropical Storm Hanna being inside PAR also worsens the weather conditions.

Below is a list of cities, municipalities and provinces that have canceled classes:

Metro Manila

  • all levels (public and private)

Cagayan Valley

  • Cagayan
    • Aparri – all levels (public)

Calabarzon

  • Cavite province
    • Alfonso – all levels (public and private)
    • Bacoor City – all levels (public and private)
    • Dasmariñas City – all levels (public and private)
    • Imus City – all levels (public and private)
    • Kawit – all levels (public and private)
    • Naic – all levels (public and private)
    • Noveleta – all levels (public and private)
    • Silang – all levels (public and private)
    • Trece Martires City – all levels (public and private)
  • Rizal – all levels (public and private)

Central Luzon

  • Bulacan
    • Hagonoy – all levels (public and private)
  • Pampanga
    • Masantol – all levels (public and private)
  • Angeles City – face-to-face classes, all levels (public and private)

Cordillera Administrative Region

  • Abra – all levels (public and private)
  • Benguet – preschool to senior high school (public and private)

Ilocos Region

  • Pangasinan
    • Sual – all levels (public and private)
  • Dagupan City – all levels (public and private)

Western Visayas

  • Bacolod City – all levels (public and private)
