Marcos appoints Teodoro’s wife as UNICEF envoy

MANILA, Philippines — Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr.’s wife has been appointed as special envoy to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) by President Marcos, the Presidential Communications Office announced in a Facebook post on Monday. Monica Louise Prieto-Teodoro held the same position under the Duterte administration from 2017 to 2018.

UNICEF is the world’s leading humanitarian agency for children, aimed at protecting the rights of children, especially the vulnerable and disadvantaged.
