MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is planning to launch new games to bolster its revenues.

“We have the intention to accept new games. But we have not yet issued a formal announcement so we have not yet received any submission (of new game proposals),” PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles told The STAR.

The PCSO secured clearances for the acceptance, evaluation and processing of new game proposals early last year from the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel and the Department of Budget and Management.

Digitalizing the lotto betting system through a web application that will be developed by a private gaming technology firm is also being planned.

The PCSO has been ramping up efforts to boost its revenue collection to fulfill its obligations of funding 40 percent of the universal health care program, as well as maintaining the Medical Access Program to provide free medicines for chemotherapy, post-liver and post-kidney transplant, epoetin injections and hemophilia.
