MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos leaves today for Malaysia for a three-day state visit upon the invitation of Malaysian King Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

Marcos will be accompanied by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, some Cabinet secretaries and Filipino businessmen, Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza said.

In a recent press briefing at Malacañang, Daza said the President would meet with the king of Malaysia and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, and they are expected to identify new areas of synergy between the two countries.

Marcos will also push for stronger collaboration with Malaysia to boost his administration’s priority sectors, including agriculture, food security, tourism, digital economy and people-to-people exchange, Daza said.
