New LPA to develop into TD Egay
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area in Mindanao might develop into Tropical Depression Egay in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Egay would be the fifth cyclone to hit the Philippines this year.
As of 3 p.m. yesterday, the low-pressure area was estimated at 890 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Scattered rainshowers in Eastern Visayas and Mindanao are expected, while localized thunderstorms may bring isolated rainshowers in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.
