PUP top source of workforce, UP graduates ‘most desired’

MANILA, Philippines — The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) remains the top source of talent among 700 companies from 42 industries in the country, while University of the Philippines (UP) graduates are considered “most desired” by employers.

Online job portal JobStreet by SEEK’s recent survey conducted last May found that 23.39 percent of respondent companies hired most of their talents from PUP, while UP was at the top of companies’ “wish list.”

Employers believe that PUP graduates are “effective team players in the workplace.”

Other universities “most desired” by hirers include De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, Ateneo de Manila University, Mapúa University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, University of San Carlos, Far Eastern University and Technological Institute of the Philippines.
