MANILA, Philippines — Amid its proposal to change the voting system in the next general election, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) aims to gather potential bidders and suppliers for a conference that would tackle procurement policies in the poll body.
Slated for June 29-30, the Comelec Procurement Summit, a first in the agency, would be held “in the interest of ensuring transparency and accountability and access of private sectors in the bidding opportunities of (Comelec), and to strengthen the link between the bidders and our procurement processes,” it said in an advisory.
The summit would be “open to all suppliers, service providers, consultants and contractors who have already joined or wish to participate in the bidding opportunities of the Commission,” it noted.
However, the Comelec announced only 100 participants, with one representative from each company, would be admitted to the conference.
They should register online, it noted.
