Cruz, who probed P6.7 billion shabu anomaly, retires

MANILA, Philippines — Police Maj. Gen. Eliseo DC Cruz bid farewell to his distinguished career in the Philippine National Police in a retirement ceremony on June 14 attended by officials, fellow PNP officers, and his family.

PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. expressed his admiration and gratitude to Cruz, acknowledging his work ethic, competence and dedication during his 37-year service in the police force.

“We congratulate PMGen Eliseo Dela Cruz Cruz on this momentous occasion of his retirement. His leadership and commitment have been an invaluable asset to the Philippine National Police,” Acorda said. “We will miss your presence in the PNP, your mentoring and the great work that have benefitted different police units you have worked with.”

Throughout his career, Cruz served and led in various capacities, most recently as the Director for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM), leaving his mark on the PNP and inspiring his colleagues and subordinates with his dedication, optimism and hard work.

“I am deeply humbled and honored to have served the Filipino people and protected our nation with utmost sincerity and expertise,” Cruz said.

“I am grateful for the trust bestowed upon me, and I will forever cherish the memories and friendships forged during my time in the PNP,” he added.

During his tour of duty as the DIDM, Cruz introduced initiatives that contributed to the PNP’s modernization, investigation and efficiency.

His commitment to training and developing investigators also played a role in enhancing the PNP’s crime-solving capabilities while his leadership was instrumental in the resolution of several high-profile cases, upholding the rule of law and preserving public safety.

His investigation of the 990-kilogram shabu seizure last year worth P6.7 billion showcased his probing skills and dedication to justice and integrity.
