President Marcos signs 13 local school laws

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has signed into law 13 measures related to local schools.

The laws were signed last June 15, documents uploaded to the Official Gazette website showed.

Two of the measures created new high schools – the Mabca National High School in Sagñay, Camarines Sur (Republic Act 11944) and the Bolila National High School in Malita, Davao Occidental (RA 11945).

Five laws separated extension schools from their parent institutions and converted them into independent schools. The measures separated the Tukuran Technical-Vocational High School-Baclay Extension in Zamboanga del Sur from Tukuran Technical-Vocational High School and converted it into the Baclay National High School (RA 11941); the Sapa Anding National High School – Ramon Magsaysay Extension in Zamboanga del Sur from Sapa Anding Agricultural Vocational Technical School and converted it into the Ramon Magsaysay National High School (RA 11942); the Mariano Peralta National High School – Datu Danwata Extension in Davao Occidental from Mariano Peralta National High School and converted it into the Gaspar Danwata National High School (RA 11943); the Bacoor National High School – Tabing Dagat Annex in Cavite from Bacoor National High School and converted it into the Mariano Gomes National High School (RA 11946), and the Addang Elementary School-Ambatutong Extension in Mountain Province from Addang Elementary School and converted it into the Ambatutong Elementary School (RA 11952).

Also signed were laws that converted the Bukid Elementary School in Davao Occidental into the Bukid Integrated School (RA 11947); Tribal Filipino School of Tambelang in Davao Occidental into Tribal Filipino School of Tambelang Integrated School (RA 11948); Kidaman Elementary School in Davao Occidental into the Kidaman Integrated School (RA 11949); Hibao-An Elementary School in Iloilo City into the Hibao-An Integrated School (RA 11950) and the Nabitasan Elementary School In Iloilo City into the Nabitasan Integrated School (RA 11951).

Marcos also signed RA 11940, which extended the term of office of the president of the Adiong Memorial State College from three years to four years.
