MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) will launch the third booster immunization drive for eligible populations on June 21 at the Philippine Heart Center.

Health care workers and senior citizens who received their second booster shots four to six months ago are eligible for the third booster shot.

Bivalent vaccines, which protect against Omicron subvariants and COVID-19’s original strain, have been distributed to Centers for Health Development (CHD) nationwide.

“All CHDs will have their supplies by June 14 and will be distributed to select health facilities the following days,” the DOH said.

Over 390,000 doses of bivalent vaccines donated by Lithuania arrived in the country on June 3.

The government hopes to get additional bivalent vaccines from the COVAX Facility.
