MANILA, Philippines — Public visits to the New Bilibid Prison’s Maximum Security Compound have not been suspended, the Bureau of Corrections clarified Wednesday.
This was after a social media post on its Facebook page earlier said the visits to the MaxSeCom will be suspended on June 2 to 7, without providing any explanation.
In a new post, the bureau apologized for its previous announcement.
“Visitation is ongoing following the scheduled days and hours inside the NBP-MaxSeCom,” the bureau said in Filipino.
Visitation at Bilibid and Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong was previously suspended due to the threat of COVID-19.
But the bureau again reopened these facilities to visitors on May 25.
