MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) Investigation and Detective Management director Maj. Gen. Eliseo Cruz welcomed Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla as guest of honor and speaker at the flag raising ceremony on Monday at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Two major activities initiated by the Directorate of Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM) under Cruz coincided with the flag raising ceremony.

One was the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the PNP and SM Supermalls and CityMalls for the expansion of the National Police Clearance System and the other is the launching of the PNP digital booking system or E-booking.

The MOA covers all SM Malls and CityMalls to give the public a more convenient way of applying for National Police Clearance.

With the launching of the PNP digital booking system, collection of finger prints and cross matching to Automated Fingerprints Identification System (AFIS) would be faster and more efficient, hence a boost to the crime solution efficiency of the PNP.

During the ceremony, PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin expressed his appreciation for the initiatives of the DIDM. He called the directorate a paragon of excellence in the organization.

Remulla, in his speech, lauded Cruz for acknowledging the partnership between the Department of Justice and the PNP in the administration of the criminal justice system in the country.

He emphasized that the PNP and the DOJ should always stand side by side in battling those who commit crimes and violate penal laws.
