118 resigned senior officers reviewed, evaluated by PNP
MANILA, Philippines — Over 100 senior officers who submitted their courtesy resignations have been evaluated by the five-man advisory group, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said yesterday.
Azurin said 118 senior officers were evaluated last Friday by the advisory group now finalizing their recommendation before forwarding the list to the National Police Commission for another review and evaluation.
The officers had positions of commanders, team leaders and staff of various units in the PNP, he added.
Azurin said he would divulge the findings of the group at the right time, whether the officers were cleared or not.
Some 800 officers remain to be reviewed and evaluated in the advisory group’s next meetings.
Azurin said the group agreed to meet twice a week “while ensuring objectivity, fairness and due diligence in the screening process.”
“We will be meeting twice a week, on Wednesday and Thursday. That is what we agreed on so we could evaluate and assess the third level officers quickly,” he added.
