MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos was described as a president who has made “so many” overseas travels in an episode of American game show “Jeopardy!”

An episode of the show uploaded on YouTube yesterday showed host Mayim Bialik asking a question about a country whose leader assumed office in 2022 and “has taken so many foreign trips.”

The question, which was under the “current world leaders” category and asked during the “final jeopardy” segment, contained a clue stating that a play on the name of the president is “Ferdinand Magellan Jr.”

Magellan was the Portuguese explorer who arrived in the Philippines under the patronage of Spain in 1521. He was killed in the Battle of Mactan, the first known resistance of Filipinos against foreign colonizers.

Magellan’s initials are the same as that of the President, whose full name is Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Bialik then acknowledged Avi Gupta of Stanford University as the contestant who gave the correct answer and noted that Marcos is also known by his nickname “Bongbong.”

Gupta answered, “What are the Philippines” and added a thank you message to his mother.

Malacañang has yet to issue a statement on the “Jeopardy!” episode.

Marcos has made nine official foreign trips in his first seven months in office.
