MANILA, Philippines — An active low-pressure area (LPA) is forecast to bring rain over Southern Luzon and in some parts of the Visayas and Mindanao in the next three days.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the weather disturbance has a low chance of developing into a typhoon within the next 48 hours.

As of yesterday, it was last spotted in the vicinity of Monreal town in Masbate or about 35 kilometers west southwest of Juban, Sorsogon.

PAGASA said it is continuously monitoring the LPA, which might approach the Visayas and the Bicol region in the next days bringing more rains to their provinces.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or hanging amihan also continues to bring rains in Northern Luzon and eastern portions of Central Luzon.

As for Metro Manila and Baguio City, PAGASA said in its three-day weather outlook that these areas would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of light rains.

Bicol may experience more rains today and on Tuesday but is expected to have better weather conditions by Wednesday with isolated rains and thunderstorms.

PAGASA said Metro Cebu and Metro Davao are likewise forecast to experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms from Monday to Wednesday.
