LPA trough to bring rain over Visayas, Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines — The trough of a low-pressure area will continue to affect parts of the Visayas and Mindanao today, according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low-pressure area is still outside of the Philippine area of responsibility.
It is not forecast to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next few days but could still enter the Philippine area of responsibility.
The trough will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Palawan, the Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA warned of possible flashfloods or landslides during at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon is still affecting Luzon.
The monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over the Bicol Region and the rest of MIMAROPA.
It will also bring light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, but with no significant impact.
Temperatures in Metro Manila will range between 21 and 31 degrees Celsius today.
Meanwhile, the Media Affairs Division of the Manila International Airport Authority announced yesterday the cancellation of six domestic flights due to unfavorable weather conditions at their destinations, which include flights for PAL Express (Manila-Dipolog-Manila), Cebu Pacific (Manila-Dipolog-Manila) and Cebgo (Manila-Naga-Manila). – Rudy Santos
