MANILA, Philippines — The RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) has released a list of local government officials who obtained the highest performance rating per region based on a survey it conducted last year.

According to the RPMD, the rankings were based on the results of the survey conducted nationwide from Nov. 27 to Dec. 2. on the performance of local government officials

It said the poll had 10,000 respondents who were randomly chosen. The distribution was supposedly proportional based on the number of registered voters per area.

Leading the mayors are Joy Belmonte of Quezon City in the National Capital Region (NCR) with 95 percent followed by Eric Singson of Candon City in Ilocos region and Jonas Cortes of Mandaue City in Central Visayas, who both obtained 94 percent.

Ranked third was Arlene Arcillas of Sta. Rosa City in Calabarzon with 88 percent followed by Benjamin Magalong of Baguio City in the Cordilleras with 86 percent.

Tied at fifth place with 85 percent are Nacional Mercado of Maasin and Lucy Torres-Gomez of Ormoc in Central Visayas followed by Jerry Treñas of Iloilo City in Western Visayas with 83 percent and Art Robles of San Jose del Monte in Central Luzon, 82 percent.

Disqualified Mayor Geraldine Rosal of Albay in Bicol obtained 81 percent followed by Indy Oaminal of Ozamiz in Northern Mindanao with 80 percent.

Ronnie Lagnada of Butuan City in Caraga and Sebastian Duterte of Davao City in Davao region obtained 78 and 77 percent, respectively.

Both Sammy Co of Pagadian and Darel Uy of Dipolog in Zamboanga peninsula got 75 percent. They were followed by Lorelei Pacquiao of General Santos City in Soccsksargen with 73 percent, Marilou Morillo of Calapan in Mimaropa with 72 percent and Bruce Matabalao of Cotabato City in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, 70 percent.

Quirino Gov. Dakila Cua led the top provincial executives in Cagayan Valley with 91 percent approval among his constituents. Gwen Garcia of Cebu in Central Visayas and Matthew Manotoc of Ilocos Norte in Ilocos region tied at second place with 90 percent each.

Jonvic Remulla of Cavite and Dodo Mandanas of Batangas in Calabarzon tied at third place with 89 percent each followed by Toto Defensor of Iloilo in Western Visayas with 88 percent and Susan Yap of Tarlac in Central Luzon with 87 percent.

Tied at sixth place are Peter Unabia of Misamis Occidental and Henry Oaminal of Misamis Oriental in Northern Mindanao with 85 percent each followed by Sharee Ann Tan of Samar in Eastern Visayas with 83 percent.

Completing the list were Edwin Jubahib of Davao del Norte in Davao region with 82 percent; Antonio Kho of Masbate in Bicol, 80 percent; Bonz Dolor of Oriental Mindoro in Calabarzon, 78 percent; Nene Jalosjos of Zamboanga del Norte in Zamboanga peninsula, 76 percent; Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza of Cotabato in Soccsksargen, 74 percent; Bombit Adiong Jr. of Lanao del Sur in Bangasamoro region, 72 percent, and Melchor Diclas of Benguet in the Cordilleras with 70 percent.

Among district representatives, former president and Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Cavite Rep. Jolo Revilla led their colleagues from Central Luzon and Calabarzon, respectively, with 95 percent.

They were followed by Cebu’s Duke Frasco and Pablo John Garcia in Central Visayas, both with 94 percent; Kris Meehan Singson of Ilocos Sur and Sandro Marcos of Ilocos Norte in Ilocos region, both 93 percent; Toby Tiangco of Navotas in the NCR, 93 percent, and Lorenz Defensor of Iloilo in Westen Visayas, 92 percent.

Joey Salceda of Albay in Bicol, Gerryboy Espina Jr. of Biliran in Central Visayas and Ando Oaminal of Misamis Occidental in Northern Mindanao obtained 90 percent.

They were followed by Adrian Amatong of Zamboanga del Norte who obtained 88 percent; Claude Bautista of Davao Occidental and Eric Yap of Benguet both with 87 percent, Eddiebong Plaza of Agusan del Sur in Caraga and Baby Alfonso of Cagayan in Cagayan Valley both at 86 percent and Ton Acharon of General Santos in Soccsksargen, 84 percent.
