MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City 2nd District Councilor Mikey Belmonte and Sen. Bong Go yesterday turned over two multi-purpose buildings to residents of Barangays Batasan and Commonwealth.

The MB-SBG Multi-Purpose Building projects were turned over to the Nagsaka Homeowners Association in Batasan Hills and Keno Homeowners Association in Commonwealth.

The inauguration and turnover ceremony was attended by QC Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Each building is composed of three floors, each equipped with facilities such as a comfort room, a function room, a sound system and ventilation.

The two projects were funded by the offices of councilor Belmonte and Go.

Meanwhile, the councilor said the construction of six more multi-purpose buildings as well as road-widening and drainage improvement are in the pipeline as among his priority projects for his district.

“We plan to construct a total of eight multi-purpose buildings here in the second district of QC for the use of our residents. These two that were inaugurated and turned over to our homeowners associations today were just the initial projects,” he said in Filipino.

“We have also laid out the plans for our road-widening and drainage improvement projects, which will commence in the coming days,” he added.

The road-widening and drainage improvement projects are part of his flood mitigation program for QC’s second district, according to Belmonte.

Meanwhile, Go reiterated his support for infrastructure projects in city, emphasizing that the construction of multi-purpose buildings will bring communities together.

“This building is more than just bricks and mortar; it is a symbol of your commitment to each other and to the future of your community. It will be a place where you can gather to share ideas, conduct events, celebrate your achievements and support each other in times of need,” he said in a press statement.

“It is a place where you can come together to learn, grow and make your community a better place for everyone,” he added.

The senator revealed that he will also work with the QC government for the construction of a “super health center” also in the second district, where residents can seek free medical check-ups and other health services.
