Marcos names CDC, NFA acting chiefs

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed Robert Rayo Bioco as acting administrator of the National Food Authority (NFA), which is under the Department of Agriculture (DA).

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) yesterday announced Bioco’s appointment along with other new appointees. He replaced Judy Carol Dansal.

Marcos concurrently heads the DA and chairs the NFA.

The President also appointed former Commission on Audit chairman Michael Aguinaldo as chairman of the Philippine Competition Commission for a term of seven years. The PCC is under the Office of the President (OP).

Aguinaldo will serve as PCC chairman until Jan. 7, 2030, according to a PCO statement.

Meanwhile, former Angeles City mayor Edgardo Pamintuan has been named acting chairman and member of the board of directors of Clark Development Corp.

Marcos likewise appointed Geneses Rivero Abot as deputy director general of the Anti-Red Tape Authority, also under the OP.

Gloria Jacinto Balboa was named Department of Health assistant secretary while Johanna Solon Banzon and Rodley Desmond Carza were appointed DOH directors.

The President appointed Jocelyn de Guzman Cabreza and Alan Rio Luga as acting members of the Government Service Insurance System, representing the banking, finance, investment and insurance sectors Board of Trustees, while Robert Montes de Claro was named acting member of the Social Security Commission, representing the employers’ group.

Faith Barana de Guia was also named director at PCO.
