MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) southeast of Mindanao will bring rains over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao today.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low-pressure area was monitored 670 kms. east of Davao City, Davao Del Sur as of 3 p.m.

The low-pressure area is bringing cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers over Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas and Mindanao.

PAGASA said the low-pressure area is not likely to develop into a tropical depression in the next few days.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon is affecting Luzon and is forecast to bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Aurora and Quezon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will also see cloudy skies with light rains due to the monsoon but there is no significant impact expected.

Isolated rainshowers may also be seen over Palawan and Western Visayas due to localized thunderstorms.
